I own a graphic and web design firm in New York City. In 2008 I had a little girl. It took about 2 years before I was able to find time to paint again. Then as my daughter got older, we started doing more creative things together. I ordered felt and polyfil by the pounds. I used glue and felt at first to start making quickie toys. Then I started sewing by hand because it looked much better that way. However, sewing by hand was way too time-consuming. I bought a sewing machine and realized that sewing relaxed me in a way that painting never did. I always have to be doing something. When I have free time, I use it to clean, run, read or create. Sewing has been such a great outlet for me to relax. I am still new at it, but have been inspired by many to continue on and enhance my skills.
